Originally the ballroom of the Savoy Hotel, the elegant Abraham Lincoln room with its high ceiling enjoys a special reputation and is considered the ideal venue for banquets in London. Used alone, it is the perfect size for business lunches, conferences, formal dinners or evening parties with dancing. The Abraham Lincoln Room is often booked in conjunction with the adjoining Manhattan Room, designed specifically for receptions and designed in Art Deco style. Both rooms have cloakrooms and their own private foyer.
Over the course of its long history, the Abraham Lincoln Room has become a popular venue for wedding receptions, awards ceremonies and other prestigious events. Be it the wedding breakfast for French royalty in 1895 or a private dinner in a flower-filled arbor, the Abraham Lincoln Room offers the space, flexibility and charm of a truly historic location. During World War I, the American community in London used the room extensively for their lunch and dinner parties. When this same community donated a bust of US President Abraham Lincoln to the hotel in 1923, the room received its name.
