Eliminating single use plastic and waste

  • We have eliminated the use of single-use plastics across each department, offering a wide range of bedroom amenities from local suppliers who utilise sustainable materials and ingredients.
  • Orbisk, an AI food waste monitoring system helps us to identify, track and reduce our food waste, and kitchen oil are recycled to renewable energy and bio-fuel.
  • Extensive waste recycling and reuse initiatives help to divert waste from public areas, guest rooms and elsewhere in the hotel away from landfill; we are proud of our 98%+ recycling record.

Renewable energy sources

Carbon Footprint

  • 100% of our energy supply is purchased via renewable energy sources and 100% of our gas supply is carbon offset with Certified Emissions Reductions.
  • The Savoy are collaborating with ecoSPIRITS, the world’s first low carbon, low waste distribution technology for premium spirits and wine, reducing carbon emissions by 90%.
  • Klimato, a carbon footprint menu labelling initiative gives guests a more informed choice on dishes.

Water consumption

  • To help reduce our water consumption guests can engage with our linen and towels reuse programme.
  • Still and sparkling water served in custom-designed, with reusable glass bottles, straight from ‘The Savoy Well’, our onsite water-bottling lab

Ethical suppliers

  • Our chefs select the freshest, seasonal produce from suppliers who deliver on food sustainability, including Fairtrade and organic options, and provide thoughtful provenance on our menus.

Local Community

  • Our Concierge can recommend local green spaces, bicycle hire and public transport options.
  • Enjoy a walk through Victoria Embankment Gardens, awarded a Green Flag, or along the banks of the River Thames, on the doorstep of the hotel.
  • Bees play a key role in maintain biodiversity. A Savoy Bee Hotel was gifted to Canada House in Trafalgar Square, attracting vital pollinator bees.
  • We are proud of our partnership with London Heritage Quarter, a local business and community district group, and our support of a number of charities.

At corporate level, we’re striving to increase our colleague diversity, particularly among executives, to better reflect the world we live in. And we’re dedicating ourselves to becoming even better members of our community, with our WATCH program to ensure that child abuse does not occur at our properties, and initiatives that will see us donating more of our unused food products and amenities, building long-lasting partnerships with local non-profit organizations, beginning new fundraising ventures and more. The Savoy aligns with Accor’s ‘Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility Charter’ and ‘Responsible Procurement Charter’.
